Biblical Stylization in the Greek and Latin Acta martyrum and Passiones from Late Antiquity (4th - 6th centuries)

A corpus of about 250 Late Antique Aca martyrum & Passiones is being examined for their Biblical stylization: from explicit quotations to implicit allusions. This analysis reveals how the stylization constitutes a hagiographical discourse, which both underpins the continuing validity of the Biblical order in the post-Biblocal world, an dshows an idealized image of perfect Chrtistianity.
