Ultra High Pressure and Ultra High Performance Liquid Chromatograph with Ultraviolet detection

A UPLC-UV instrument consists of a quaternairy pump, an autosampler, colomn oven and a diode-array UV detector. The main difference between HPLC and UPLC is the use of smaller particle size in the column of a UPLC. This results in better chromatographic resolution, smaller chromatograpic peaks, higher sensitivity and a significant reduction in retention times and thus analysis times.
