Fund Albert & Oscar: “The heritability of the laxity index. How fast can we progress?”

Hip dysplasia is one of the most frequent orthopedic disorders responsible for rejections in assistance dogs. In this specific study, we thoroughly investigate the laxity index, a measurement important for diagnostics, to quantify the heritability. This is important as there is a direct link between the response on selection, the stringency of selection and the heritability. Once this is determined, it will become possible to determine the optimal selection coefficient necessary to achieve sufficient progress
