Subtitle:Exploration of the Energy Hub (EHUB) concept on industrial parks in Flanders: elaboration of a screening matrix to assess the potential of industrial parks in the future energy system

This study focuses on the possibility of existing industrial parks taking on a key role in the new energy system. Because not every industrial park is suited to this role as a hub of energy in the energy network, this study developed an initial methodology with an assessment framework. This exploratory study laid the foundations for a methodology that can be applied to all existing industrial parks. The methodology does not only help to determine the potential of existing industrial parks as EHUBBT but it also provides a step-by-step plan and a roadmap, in order to - using building blocks - exploit the potential in the area. The building blocks enable the realisation of projects, which will enhance the role of industrial park as EHUB-BT in relation to its environment.
