Passive rowhouse in the city (R-12042)

In Flanders, a region in Belgium, still many single-family houses need a renovation. When renovating according to the principles of circularity, house owners, with often limited building knowledge, may encounter a number of hurdles. For example, the criteria are divergent and the translation from theory to practice is lacking. The list of questions and issues increase during the design phase, the demolition phase and the construction phase. In addition, there are a lot of financial and legal questions and challenges. There is an urge for decision support in these kind of projects. In this project, we want to develop a broad support tool based on issues (and opportunities) identified during the customers' journey, the design phase and the construction phase of a real-life case. The support tool developed can be used by building professionals. The entire renovation process will be mapped and can be used as a roadmap for the development of a training course for renovation supervisors who want to guide private individuals in their circular construction project.
