GCE-PSR: preparatory work for the actualization of the strategic note for global citizenship education (GCE)

The strategic note on the development education (DE) celebrates its 9th anniversary in 2021.  Written three years before the adoption of the 17 SDGs, the strategic note became flawed by stressing the importance of education in the complexity of a globalised, interconnected world, while remaining faithful to the Nort/South reflexive axis, which is poorly positioned in relation to this globalised world.   This 2012 strategic note appears to be insufficiently adapted to two major inflections within the international development complex that have gradually taken place since the turn of the millennium: the adoption of the paradigm of interdepence and the management of global crises and risks.

It therefore seems legitimate to prepare the ground for a next strategic note that will aim to consolidate the transition from the DE sector to that of GCE.  As expected in terms of reference, we will thus propose a draft of this future strategic note as well as a set of proposals aimed at facilitating the elaboration and appropriation of this future note.
