Public Administration Education: Quality Assurance and Relevance to the Civil Service in Ethiopia

The relevance and quality of public administration education in Ethiopia are not well studied. This research project will explore the historical development of public administration education, quality, and its relevance to Ethiopia’s civil service system. To do so, primary and secondary data will be collected and analyzed using historical neo-institutionalism, and resource dependency theory theoretical frameworks. The research project will contribute to the public administration literature, policy debate, and dialogue on public administration education quality, and its relevance. The project also contributes to the professionalization of public administration in Ethiopia which is one of the main objectives of the Ethiopian Public Administration Association (EPAA). The length of the project is four years.
