Theatrical Impunity

The case of the death of (undocumented) toddler Mawda Shawri by a police bullet has been framedas 'tragic' or as a 'tragedy'. Some Flemish theatres have put the process against the policeman (and the traffickers) on their performance agenda. This article reflects upon the notions of 'tragic' and 'tragedy' in this context, focusing on the narrowing of the case as a 'dramatic incident', (too) easy translated in legal narrative.
