Project
Developing Applied Building Photovoltaics for Performance and Reliability (DAPPER) (DAPPER)
General purpose
The energy performance of buildings is becoming increasingly stringent. The use of building integrated solar panels (BIPV) and solar panels (BAPV) applied to buildings are an essential component to reduce energy consumption. At the moment there is still a lack of fundamental research to reduce uncertainties in implementation and operational operation. The project therefore focuses on 4 topics that form the basis for an improved planning, design choice and operation of BIPV systems:
-Improved energy yield prediction of the whole system over its lifetime
-Design rules, component selection and guidelines for maximum yield and reliability
-Tools for continuous monitoring that enable self-testing and predictable maintenance
-Provision for interaction with an energy management system with energy forecasting
