computational mechanics: modelling damage in structuresand materials (R-11386)

The research of Bram Vandoren and his group focuses on the development and application of robust, efficient and accurate finite element models and solution algorithms for modeling the failure behavior of quasi-brittle materials (e.g. concrete and masonry) and timber structures. These modeling strategies are used in case studies and coupled with large-scale experiments performed within the structural lab of the group.
