Collagen-based nutraceuticals (COLLAPIG)

During this project, ILVO and innovation-driven company Rousselot collaborate to develop new products with human health benefits. Rousselot is a world-leader in gelatin-based products. The Rousselot Gent plant incorporates an expertise center and pilot hall where new production processes are tested. This VLAIO-funded project supports exploration of new application areas for Rousselot’s products.

During this collaboration, ILVO will establish in-house scientific experience with minipigs as a model for human health.

For both project partners, this project holds promise for innovation. By combining feed evaluation and preclinical research experience, ILVO contributes its multidisciplinary and integrated approach. ILVO will develop a widely applicable minipig-based model for human health, which finds its first industrial application with Rousselot.
