EXPONENTIAL GROWTH IN THE NUMBER OF ITEMS IN THE WOS

In this note we explain how to find the yearly numbers of items in Clarivate’s Web ofScience (WoS) and its sub-databases. As a result, we find that the WoS Core Collection grows exponentially during the period 1990-2019. We check and confirm that a simultaneous search at different locations leads to exactly the same results.
