Advanced multi-scale modelling of pollutant dispersion at open channel confluences in urban networks

The dispersion of pollutants in urban canal networks, hence the water quality, is highly influenced by the local 3D hydrodynamics and mixing taking place at confluences. To improve the reliability of large-scale, low-cost water quality models, the latter will be combined with a detailed model of the confluence influence zone based on Large Eddy Simulations.
