Brain-resident lymphocytes: the role of Regulatory T cells in brain

Cognitive function and dysfunction  depends on the establishment of proper connections between the nervous cells of the brain (neurons).
Importantly, studies in mouse models of brain diseases such as Alzheimer`s Disease, Autism or Multiple Sclerosis have shown a link between the immune system and cognitive functions. The aim of our research study is to determine the role of a specific type of immune cell, the Regulatory T cells in the regulation of neuron connections and thus cognitive function.
