DISEÑO PARTICIPATIVO. COMO HERRAMIENTA PARA EL DESARROLLO DE PROYECTOS EN COMUNIDADES RURALES DEL SECTOR SAMBORONDON.CASOS: SAN JOSE Y BARRANCA CENTRAL

Book - Book

The development of rural settlements in Latin America has been closely linked to the evolution of agriculture. New demands have been presented in rural areas based on an increase in agricultural production, and in greater exploitation of the natural resources available to these spaces related to biodiversity and sustainability. In turn, new rural scenarios have been presented in territories where rural settlements coexist in an urban-rural context of increasing inequality in terms of access to basic services, legalization of land and quality of life of the population.Ecuador is considered an agricultural country with a need to strengthen rural areas in their planning in the social, economic, environmental and physical environment. This book gives recommendations to architects and planners for the use of tools in participatory design for work in rural communities in order to empower them and to achieve an improvement in their physical environment. In addition to the recommendations regarding tools, this book focuses on the right to the city, as rural settlements show deficiencies, separated from urban development, often disconnected, without any morphological relationship that connects the urban with the rural, especially agricultural rural settlements that are in the suburban conurbation as it is the case of San José and Barranca, in the Samborondón canton, next to Guayaquil canton
