Project

System-on-Chip architectures for view interpolation in computational multi-camera systems. (R-7170)

The goal of the Ph.D. research is the development of novel System-on-Chip architectures for the efficient implementation of computationally complex video algorithms. Efficiency is defined in terms of resource usage, power consumption and communication requirements. The target application area is in real-time high resolution multi-camera based depth estimation and view interpolation. Current implementations for multi-camera systems are software- or GP-GPU based. This Ph.D. research specifically addresses dedicated hardware and System-on-Chip architectures in order to be able realize more efficient and higher throughput architectures.
