Project

Roll-Out of Local Energy Communities (ROLECS)

The general aim is to gain a better understanding of the functioning of local energy communities (LEC) and to prepare the design and roll-out of a number of LECs with great potential, as a new concept in the context of the Clean Energy Package of the EU. The following future applications are being investigated:

-analysis, design and validation of models for LEC;

- design of a three-phase low and medium voltage model for the analysis of network congestion;

-collecting data and deriving intercorrelations that determine human behavior;

- study of business and legal options and the interaction with existing legislation and technology.

In addition, 10 test / pilot sites are being set up, which are complementary in type and size, to support and validate the research
