Research on the situation of persons with disabilities in Belgium with regard to their fundamental rights as guaranteed by the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. (R-4704)

Opposite to the background of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which aimes at the full, structural and effective participation of persons with disabilities and their representative organizations, a consultation of the Belgian civil society is organized to (1) identify the legal, social, and material obstacles and opportunities on equality and non-discrimination, accessibility (to services, information, physical and virtual space), legal, action, and decision-making ability, freedom and security, independent living, education, and employment and (2) the preparation of a prioritized action plan.
