Project

Production of encapsulated microbubbles for use in non-invasive in situ dosimetry for radiotherapy (R-4876)

UHasselt is positioned as a key role player for the design and development of dosimetry optimized gas filled microbubbles with improved radiation sensitivity. IMO-IMOMEC has both the engineering as well as the material development and characterization expertise that is required for this project. It has already been developing expertise for the production of gas filled microbubbles. Within this IOF-long term project further developments with respect to the design of new microbubbles using new formulations to yield improved radiation sensitivity and upscaling the production of microbubbles is foreseen.
