This article presents a close reading of Jelinek's theatre text Rein Gold, concentrating on the intertwinement of essayistic and theatrical poetics and analysing spatial figurations such as the 'Guckkastenbühne', the rehearsal stage and the 'stage' of the internet, in relation to the ideology of the 'Hauswirtschaft'.
