Project

Dissection of the HIV reservoir in acutely infected patients treated immediately

In this HIV cure research project we will determine the composition of the replication competent reservoir in specific T memory cells in early treated acute seroconverters and study the clonal expansion as a driver of persistent HIV infection. This will be done by mapping sequences of the complete HIV genome, by determining integration sites in the human genome at different time points and by transcriptome analysis on T memory cells at single cell level.
