Locally compact groups acting on discrete geometric structures

The structure of locally compact groups is still far from fully understood in general. We aim to further develop the theory of totally discontinuous locally compact groups, by actions on suitable discrete geometric structures, such as locally finite trees and right-angled buildings. These actions provide a
rich class of examples and ought to enhance our general understanding of these groups.
