Knowledge center for culture and media participation

The Knowledge Center Culture and Media Participation is responsible for the further development of policy-relevant research focusing on culture and media participation for the period 2016-2020. In addition, the knowledge center prepares and coordinates a new participation survey.

The Culture and Media Participation Knowledge Center is a consortium of three scientific partners:

- Ghent University (Department of Sociology - CuDOS)

- Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Department of Sociology - TOR)

- Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Department of Communication Sciences - SMIT)

The research activities of the Knowledge Center are clustered into 5 research domains:

- Participation survey (all research teams, coordination and methodology: UGent-Sociology)

- Arts and heritage (education, experience and participation) (UGent-Sociology)

- Socio-cultural work and disadvantaged groups (VUB-TOR)

- Local cultural policy (VUB-TOR)

- Media and digital participation (VUB-SMI
