Project

Research on the socio-economic impact and the quantification of ecosystem services in the framework of the Life + projects: LIFE + Nature recovery project Most-Keiheuvel (LIFE11NAT / BE / 001061) and Life + TOGETHER (LIFE12NAT / BE / 001098) (R-8543)

(Protected) natural areas are to a large extent dependent on declining government support for maintaining nature and maintaining the services they provide. Consequently, identifying management interventions that are socially supported is an additional requirement in balancing the impact versus the conservation objectives imposed by Europe. In this project, we use an approach that enables policy-relevant management interventions to be identified with a view to a subsequent economic valuation study.
