Project

Next-generation Y chromosomal phylogeny for multidisciplinary applications.

The upswing of next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques provides opportunities for improving the human Y chromosomal phylogeny. Firstly, the enormous amount of new NGS data from multiple projects with different accuracies will be combined into a more accurate Y chromosomal phylogeny using acceptable computational power. Secondly, NGS data can be used to study the X-Y conversion on the Y chromosome and how does this affect the validity of the current Y chromosomal phylogeny and its multidisciplinary applications.
