Postnatal human skin progenitor cell-derived hepatocyte-like cells as potential in vitro model for hepatotoxicity screening of pharmaceuticals (FWOAL691)

In the current project, it will be investigated whether hSKPs (adult skin-derived progenitor cells) can be used as a human relevant screening system to detect liver toxicity induced by pharmaceuticals and to study, at a molecular level, their modes of action, including the potential involvement of progenitor cell activation.
