Building institutions and capabilities for work and employment in a global era: the social dynamics of labour regulation.

The research project seeks to integrate and analyse five distinct levels of analysis at with the regulation of work and employment rules globaly takes place: 1) multinational companies and global value chains, 2) new frontiers for citizenship at work, 3) restructuring the state and its mode of regulation, 4) rethinking collective representation, 5) the social dynamics of comparative institutional advantages. The aim is through comparative, multi-level analysis to engage in theory building, institution building and capacity building for an understanding of the dynamics of labour regulation within (and across) the different levels above indicated in a global era.
