Normative development tasks in adolescents with congenital heart disease
About 90% of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) can reach adulthood. A timely and good prepared tranfer from pediatric cardiology to an adult congenital heart disease programme is important. Nonetheless, no empirical information is available on how patients and their parents should be prepared for this transfer, and how normative developmental tasks influence the transition to adulthood.
