Project

Chromatin signaling by protein phosphatase PP1/Repo-Man.

In this project we aim to obtain a more integrated view of the functions and regulation of the PP1gamma/Repo-Man holoenzyme during interphase and M-phase. The specific questions that we want to address are: What is the chromatin-targeting mechanism of PP1gamma/Repo-Man? What is the molecular basis of its restricted substrate specificity? Does protein kinase ATM mediate the effects of PP1gamma/Repo-Man on H3T11ph? What are the mitotic substrates that contribute to chromosome decondensation? Does PP1gamma/Repo-Man regulate gene expression during interphase?
