Organisation profile:It is impossible to single out a single research area of particular importance to the group. A large number of research projects are undertaken ranging over different areas. Members of the group are involved in literature research which encompasses Dutch, German, Afrikaans, and South African literature. In the domain of linguistics research is undertaken on Dutch and German linguistics and didactics on the one hand and on comparative German-Dutch linguistics on the other. An important research project in this field is the writing of a 'Lerngrammatik des Deutschen'. For an international project 'Deutsch als Fremdsprache' an overview is made of contrastive research Dutch-German, including a bibliography. The results of these different research projects are published in article form in a broad range of periodicals or presented in paper form at specialist conferences.
