Project

Subcontract with VITO within the framework of the Consortium Environmental Health (R-7839)

The impact of the environment pollution on public health, and the social and economic impact is well recognized. An active environmental health policy can reduce these negative impacts. The 'Agenschap Zorgen Gezondheid' is developing and implementing a preventive health policy, supported by the PO MGZ ('partnerorganisatie Milieugezondheidszorg). The Centre of Statistics will evaluate the usefulness of small area and spatial statistics in the context of detecting clusters with increased incidence a specific condition, using available health data in Flanders. The methodology will be illustrated by means of a case study.
