The effect of brazing process on microstructure evolution and corrosion performance of a modified AA4XXX/AA3XXX brazing sheet Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Effect of simulated brazing on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of twin roll cast AA3003 Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Aluminum alloy (AA) 3003 is widely used as fin and tube material in heat exchangers. In these heat exchangers, the tube and fin material are brazed together by means of an AA4xxx alloy. In this study, the effect of a simulated brazing step on the microstructure and corrosion behavior of a twin roll casted (TRC) AA3003 was studied. In particular, the effect of simulated brazing on the corrosion properties of the centre line segregation (CLS) ...
Influence of material related parameters in sea water acidified accelerated test, reliability and electrochemical evaluation of the test for aluminium brazing sheet Vrije Universiteit Brussel
Keeping the climatic parameters constant, this study elucidates how the variations of the test results are material dependent. Applying a new statistical reliability evaluation and interpretation ...
Improved Corrosion Resistance of Aluminum Brazing Sheet by a Post-Brazing Heat Treatment Vrije Universiteit Brussel
This work studies the influence of the microstructure on the corrosion mechanism and susceptibility of as-brazed aluminum sheet. Various microstructures are obtained using postbrazing heat treatments developed to enhance the corrosion resistance of an AA4xxx/AA3xxx brazing sheet. The heat treatment results in a decrease of the matrix Si content within the heat affected zone and an increase of the Si fraction in the α-Al(Fe-Mn)Si phase. ...
