Quasi-static correction of modally reduced order models for system inversion in structural dynamics KU Leuven
Parameterized reduced order models with guaranteed passivity using matrix interpolation Universiteit Gent
Time-domain impedance boundary conditions for acoustic reduced order finite element simulations KU Leuven
Transient responses impose additional restrictions concerning model order reduction of acoustic finite element systems. Time-stable model order reduction methods achieve model compaction while guaranteeing frequency domain models transform in a physically meaningful way. Efficiency and stability are of course of little consequence if the model is rendered inaccurate. Krylov subspaces inherently include system input and/or output behavior in the ...
Reduced order delayed systems by means of Laguerre functions and Krylov subspaces (Best Student Paper Award Finalist) Universiteit Gent
In this paper, we propose an algorithm for model order reduction of large scale systems that can be described by delayed differential equations. The algorithm is based on the combination of a Laguerre expansion technique for the delays and higher order Krylov subspaces. Pertinent numerical results validate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed model order reduction approach.
Reduced Basis Method for Closed-Form Affine Dependent Second Order Systems KU Leuven
This thesis proposes the use of Reduced Basis (RB) methods to improve the computational efficiency of simulations in the field of elastodynamics and acoustics including poroelastic materials. RB methods are Model Order Reduction techniques used to generate parametric Reduced Order Models (ROM). The are many reasons for current researchers to focus on MOR for computational improvements. The technological development of computers and hardware has ...
Fast metamaterial design optimization using reduced order unit cell modeling Universiteit Hasselt KU Leuven
Metamaterials have recently emerged and shown potential as lightweight and compact noise and vibration solutions. By adding or embedding resonant structures to or in a flexible host structure on a sub-wavelength scale, stop bands can be created, which enable frequency ranges of strong vibration and noise attenuation. These often periodic structures are typically analyzed using infinite periodic structure theory, based on a representative unit ...
Interval Reduced Order Surrogate Modelling Framework for Uncertainty Quantification KU Leuven
Surrogate models are widely used in the engineering community to approximate costly and large evaluation processes, such as difficult experiments or expensive simulations. This paper presents a non-intrusive framework for epistemic surrogate modelling, which is based on proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) and polynomial chaos expansion (PCE) for interval observations. In physical systems modelling, it is important to consider both aleatoric ...
POD based reduced order modelling of a non-linear eddy current problem KU Leuven
In this paper reduced order model of a non-linear model is developed by proper ortho- gonal decomposition method. The reduced model is compared with the reference model when applied to an eddy current problem. A classical magnetodynamic finite element formulation is used as reference and as starting point of the reduced models.
