One of the major threats for zucchini production in temperate and tropical regions are caused by Cucumber mosaic virus (CMV, Cucumovirus), Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV, Potyvirus), Watermelon mosaic virus (WMV, Potyvirus) and Papaya ringspot virus (PRSV, Potyvirus).
