A Repertoire of Touch in Participatory Choreography Vrije Universiteit Brussel
This essai reflects on touch in the work of Belgian-based participatory artists Vera Tussing and Katrien Oosterlinck. I argue that the development of a repertoire of touch and the ability to hold a conversation with the situation imbues their work with principles of communication and negotiation, evokes a culture of questioning, and conjures an aesthetic of call and response.
