A smart suitcase with overmolded inkprinted dual-band antennas Universiteit Gent
Nowadays, the Internet of Things is continuously expanding, with more and more objects connected. The seamless integration of wireless communication systems into smart objects is possible thanks to ink-printed antennas. A smart suitcase is manufactured, where ink-printed antennas are overmolded into the plastic shell of the suitcase, during its production process. The result is a smart object where the antennas are fully integrated inside the ...
Ultra-wideband air-filled siw cavity-backed slot antenna with multipolarization reconfiguration Universiteit Gent
Air-filled substrate integrated waveguide (AFSIW) cavity-backed slot antenna topologies are promising candidates to address the specific design challenges posed by the Internet of Things (IoT). In this contribution, we demonstrate a new single-feed ultrawideband cavity-backed slot antenna with multipolarization reconfiguration by leveraging four quartets of PIN diodes in substrate-independent AFSIW technology for operation in the [5.15-5.85] GHz ...
Ultra-compact camera integrated antenna for ingestible and implantable applications Universiteit Gent
In this paper, we describe the design and performance of the novel ultra-compact camera integrated antenna to be integrated in a pill-shaped capsule, suitable for ingestible and implantable applications in the 434-MHz MedRadio-band. Extensive numerical analysis proves robust impedance and radiation performances for different body tissues.
Heterogeneous integration of a high-speed lithium niobate modulator on silicon nitride using micro-transfer printing Universiteit Gent
60 GHz analog radio-over-fiber single sideband transmitter chipset with 55nm SiGe BiCMOS driver RFIC and silicon photonics modulator PIC Universiteit Gent
A polynomial chaos stochastic model for 2D breast microwave scattering Universiteit Gent
A computational model that quantifies the statistical distributions of the electromagnetic field scattered by a breast with random variations in its complex permittivity profile is presented. It involves the construction of a sparse hyperbolically truncated polynomial chaos expansion for the scattered field at each receiving antenna with the modified cross-validation least-angle regression method and requires significantly less deterministic ...
Air-filled SIW technology for mass-manufacturable and energy-efficient terahertz systems Universiteit Gent
To accommodate the ever-growing data requirements in densely populated areas and address the need for high-resolution sensing in diverse next-generation applications, there is a noticeable trend towards utilizing large unallocated frequency bands above 100 GHz. To overcome the harsh propagation conditions, large-scale antenna arrays are crucial and urge the need for cost-effective, mass-manufacturable technologies. A dedicated Any-Layer High ...
