Analysis of the service cycle of an elevator during up-peak

An elevator system is modelled as a discrete-time queueing system with a batch server. The elevator is described during up-peak which means that customers arrive at the ground floor and travel to higher floors. We compute the steady-state probability generating function of the service cycle of the elevator. We derive the steady-state probability generating function of the queue content and we present some numerical example of the average system content as a function of the load.
