Accounting for end effects when calculating eddy currents in thin conductive tubes

Tijdschriftbijdrage - Tijdschriftartikel Conferentiebijdrage

The eddy currents in the beam tube of an acceleratormagnet are computed by a transient, 2D finite-element model ofthe magnet cross-section, coupled to a 2D model of the tubesurface outside of the active magnet part. By this coupling, a full3D model is avoided, although the most important end effectsare included.
