Project

Belang van toegang tot wetenschappelijke kennis voor de (innovatieve) slagkracht van ondernemingen.

The aim of this project is to study the transfer of scientific and technological developments to markets and, especially, into economic performance and competitive advantage of firms. The project proposes to analyze indurstry-science links (ISL) at the micro level by carefully connecting various innovation performance measures (patents, patent quality, patent scope, innovative products, process innovations, percent sales from recent innovations, cost reductions and productivity growth, etc.) to various manifestations of these ISL's at the firm level (publications, citations in patents, formal cooperation with universities, informal links and networking, mobility of researchers, etc.). The second stage of the project consists of three well-defined studies each focusing on a particular form of ISL: inventor mobility, co-location with science, and R&D cooperation with universities.
