Assessing human exposure to mixtures of contaminants of emerging concern: establishment of a comprehensive list of biomarkers

Therefore, the project´s goal is the establishment of a set of specific and reliable biomarkers for measurement of CECs in the human body to assess the Belgium population exposure to mixtures of CECs based on the development of an innovative data-independent acquisition workflow. Accordingly, the project encompasses three main objectives:1. The development of an innovative data-independent acquisition analytical workflow using advanced high-resolution mass spectrometry (HRMS) that will allow us to identify and prioritize the proper biomarkers of CECs and simplifying the data processing of the big data generated in the HRMS analyses. 2. To evaluate the extent of population exposure to mixtures of CECs in Belgium3. To create a prioritized list of biomarkers to perform a reliable assessment of human exposure to mixtures of CECs
