Cell recognition

A cell differentiating system for differentiating cells is described. The system comprises an input means for receiving a reconstructed image of a cell based on a holographic image of the cell in suspension, and a cell recognition means for determining cell characterization features from the reconstructed image of the cell for characterization of the cell. The cell recognition means thereby is configured for determining, as cell recognition features, image moments, the image moments being defined as m ij = ˆ‘ x , y f c y . x i . y j and ¼ ij = ˆ‘ x , y f x y . ( x ˆ’ x €¾ ) i . y ˆ’ y €¾ j where x €¾ = m 10 m 00 , y €¾ = m 01 m 00 , and · ij = ¼ ij m 00 i + j / 2 + 1 wherein j and i are orders and wherein f ( x, y) is the pixel intensity of the digital image located at ( x, y ).
