Veterinaire Entomologie

Research Unit

Tijdsduur:1 jan 1990  →  Heden

In the Unit of Veterinary Entomology, the focus lies on invasive arthropod species of veterinary importance in general in Belgium but also more specifically on the invasion of Rhipicephalus microplus in West Africa. In the latter the effect of acaricide resistance and hybridisation of vector species is studied to understand the epidemiology of Babesiosis. This also includes competence studies of vector species. In the One Health concept, an Interdisciplinary Study contributing to the identification of the cause of Nodding syndrome was launched.
