G. De Muylder

    Géraldine De Muylder graduated in biology in 2002 from the University of Namur and obtained a PhD from the University of Brussels in 2008 on host-parasite interactions focusing on the kinetoplastid parasite Trypanosma brucei. In 2009, she joined the Sandler Center for Parasitic diseases at the University of California San Francisco and developed one of the first cell-based assays for drug screening against the intracellular stage of Leishmania  donovani. In 2013, she received a ‘Back to Belgium’ grant from Belspo and joined the group of J-C Dujardin at the ITM. Currently FWO post-doctoral fellow at the ITM, she is mainly interested in understanding treatment failure and drug resistance mechanisms of L. donovani.
