MOBILE ASSISTED LANGUAGE LEARNING AND SELF-REGULATION AS STRATEGIES TO LEARN A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

This paper proposes mobile assisted language learning (MALL) and self-regulationas useful strategies to improve foreign language learning among youngprofessionals and adults. Taking into account that technology and bilingualism areissues of great importance in Colombia, the search for innovating coping strategiesis one of the biggest challenges to look upon. Thus, a critical review on the existingpolicies towards technology and language learning in Colombia, and an overview ofstudies about MALL and self-regulation all around the globe will be stated so as tomotivate working age population to learn a foreign language by means of technologyand self-regulation strategies.
