Manipulation device

A gripper for manipulation of an elongate member is disclosed. The gripper comprises a flexible sleeve for receiving the elongate member, the sleeve extending along a sleeve axis and having first and second opposite ends; a first clamping element configured to receive and removably couple to the first end of the sleeve; and a second clamping element configured to receive and removably couple to the second end of the sleeve. The sleeve has a first width at a first location when the first and second clamping elements have a first spacing along the sleeve axis and a second width at the first location when the first and second clamping elements have a second spacing along the sleeve axis which is less than the first spacing. The first width is different to the second width. At least one of the first clamping element and the second clamping element is adapted for being arranged in an open configuration providing at least sideways access for inserting the sleeve sideways in a direction not along a sleeve axis direction in said at least one clamping element, and for being arranged in a closed configuration wherein the sleeve is clamped.
