Project

Belgian network and activities in the frame of the International Plant Sentinel Network (Euphresco-IPSN2) (BePSN)

A Belgian plant sentinel network will be set up, focusing on EU-regulated and alert diseases and pests on plants. The partners from botanic gardens and arboreta are the drivers of the project, executing surveys, first-line diagnosis, collecting and reporting the data, and forming contact data within the IPSN. The national reference laboratories support the botanic gardens and arboreta with information, training, confirmations or new diagnosis, and by following up new plant health events through their international networks and IPSN. The BePSN will develop a local plan for a future sustainable and self-supporting network, aimed to become a global surveillance network.
