Optimalisatie van de diagnose en behandeling van pulmonale hypertensie via het verzamelen en analyseren van real world data.

Boek - Dissertatie

The use of registries for improved management of PH patients. 1) Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a severe and progressive disease of the pulmonary vasculature, leading to high morbidity, right heart failure and ultimately death. The aim of this project is to launch a national multicenter registry for PH to improve the quality of the diagnostic process, selection of treatment and follow-up. 2) A subproject, utilizing the multicenter registry approach, will determine whether the use of a non-invasive prediction score (Jacobs et al, ERJ 2015) in referring hospitals can make accurate distinction between PAH and pulmonary hypertension secondary to left heart disease (PH-LHD). Furthermore if the burden to the patient and economical cost can be decreased by reducing the number of unnecessary referrals to PAH expert centers and reducing the number of right heart catheterizations. 3) Finally, there will be investigated if there is a correlation between geographic location, pollution and PH prevalence.
