Combined Hinf/H2 controller design and optimal selection of sensors and actuators

Tijdschriftbijdrage - Tijdschriftartikel Conferentiebijdrage

This paper presents a systematic framework to combine Hinf/H2 dynamic output feedback controller design and economic selection of sensors and actuators for continuous linear time-invariant multi-variate systems. This combined design is formulated as a Mixed Boolean Semi-Definite Programming (MBSDP) problem. Big-M reformulations are performed on the input and output matrices of the dynamic controller to yield column and row sparsity respectively. A numerical example is considered which illustrates the potential of the developed framework. The results obtained from this approach indicate a trade-off between the economic cost related to sensors and actuators and the closed-loop performance of the systems.
