Embedding ethics in European information & communication technology curricula

In this paper, we present approaches to teaching ICT ethics in various settings in several European countries. The picture which emerges from the cases we present, and the context thereof, is a challenging one. For while it is possible to come up with examples of good practice, a systematic approach to the need for ICT ethics education is currently lacking thoughout most of Europe. Hence, we can conclude our paper with a handful of recommendations for action in this area by the members of the ICT ethics research (and teaching) community.
