Investigation on hybrid mechano-electrochemical milling of Ti6Al4V

Tijdschriftbijdrage - Tijdschriftartikel Conferentiebijdrage

To satisfy the increasing demand for processing high-performance materials in industry, a new hybrid process, Mechano-Electrochemical Milling(MECM), is developed in this research. This hybrid machining process combines the effect of both the conventional milling process and theElectrochemical Machining process (ECM). The principle of this process will be depicted in this paper. To present the effectiveness of thedeveloped process, experiments have been carried out on Ti6Al4V. A comparative study for ECM and MECM concerning material removal rateand shape accuracy will be presented. Further, the material removal mechanism and surface quality of the new process were investigated.
